Mold remediation shops by city
Mold remediation means fixing the moisture source, isolating the work area, removing contaminated material, and proving the area is clean afterward. Each city page lists public shops that publish mold work and explains what to ask before anyone opens a wall.
This is not medical advice and not a lab. If you have symptoms, talk to a clinician. We are a directory and do not inspect or remediate.
Cities with a live list
Colorado Springs, CO
Dry air at altitude does not stop mold on a wet paper-faced wall. Crawlspaces, slab-on-grade ranches, and finished basements that took snowmelt are the usual suspects.
We add a city only once at least three shops are verified from their own public sites. How we list shops
Source first
Mold follows water. Until the leak, grade, or humidity problem is fixed and the material is dry, removal only buys time. A good scope names the moisture source and how it will be corrected.
Containment
The IICRC S520 mold standard describes isolating the work area so spores are not spread through the house during removal: plastic barriers, negative air pressure, and bagging debris before it leaves the room.
Assessment and removal by different people
A company that both finds the mold and sells the tear-out has an incentive to find more. Where you can, have an independent assessor write the protocol and test afterward.
Clearance testing
After removal and before rebuild, an independent assessor can inspect and sample the area to confirm the work met the written scope. Budget for it at the start so it is not skipped at the end.
Questions
Is fogging or spraying enough?
Not as a plan on its own. Removal of contaminated material and drying the source are what fix the problem. A spray without source removal tends to come back.
Do shops pay to be listed?
No shop pays for placement on a list. See How we list shops for the method, order, and how to request a correction.
Can you tell me if my mold is dangerous?
No. We do not diagnose health effects. Talk to a clinician about symptoms and to a qualified assessor about the house.
